About Me

Hi, I'm Eswar

Embedded systems engineer and computer vision researcher based in Melbourne with a Master of IT (IoT major) from Deakin University. I build privacy-first products close to the metal — Rust, C, Python, Swift, on-device ML.

Currently running the TOD research project — training the Astra LT vision model (mAP50: 0.956) to detect and predict trolley bay occupancy in retail stores using a Raspberry Pi CamUnit. Also building Traverse, a privacy-first iOS driving app in beta with real users, and Roem, a social discovery platform with anonymous aggregate heatmaps.

I work in embedded systems, computer vision, and on-device ML. Open to European remote roles.

TOD — Trolley Occupancy Detection

An independent AI research project investigating whether a low-cost computer vision device can predict trolley bay shortages in retail stores before they occur. The CamUnit — a Raspberry Pi with a USB webcam — mounts above a trolley bay and runs Astra LT, a custom-trained YOLOv8 vision model (mAP50: 0.956, trained on 1,750 images across 9+ Australian retail brands). Includes face detection gate for privacy — any frame containing a person is discarded before analysis. Currently seeking IGA trial store partners in Melbourne's south-east.
